Editorial and Calculator Review Policy

Useful before numerous

ToolsBing prioritizes pages that solve a distinct user problem. A calculator should not be indexed merely because a keyword variation exists. Pages that do not yet meet the quality standard may remain available to users while being excluded from search indexing.

Formula and source selection

We prefer primary, official, standards-based, manufacturer, educational, or otherwise authoritative references. A page should state its formula, conversion factor, included inputs, exclusions, rounding, and important assumptions in visible text.

Testing

Review includes normal examples, boundary values, zero or missing inputs, invalid combinations, units, rounding, and comparison with an independently calculated fixture where practical. A passing interface test does not prove that a formula is correct.

Health, finance, engineering, and construction

High-impact topics receive stronger warnings and should distinguish a planning estimate from diagnosis, advice, code compliance, or professional design. Location-specific rules and personal circumstances must be verified with an appropriate authority or qualified professional.

Automation and AI

Automation may help organize drafts, metadata, tests, or related links, but generic generated wording is not treated as evidence of expertise. Indexed pages are expected to add tool-specific calculations, explanations, assumptions, and examples.
